New cover art & news of upcoming books!

Hey there! I’m taking a wee break from writing The Myth Manifestation (SPI Files 5) to give y’all an update.

Yesterday, we approved the final cover for The Myth Manifestation by my fabulous SPI Files cover artist — and 2017 Hugo Award winner for Best Professional Artist — Julie Dillon. The title, etc. aren’t in place yet, but I wanted you to get a first look. . .

I couldn’t be more thrilled! And when all the text is in place, I’ll post the final version.

I was hoping to release The Myth Manifestation in mid-November. Now, it might be in early January. Sorry! I thought my body understood that it’s not allowed to get sick until *after* I finish a book. Apparently there was a breakdown in communications. I’m coming off almost two weeks with a nasty cold that turned into bronchitis.

I’m back on my feet now, and my writing is up to full speed. My goal now is to have the book to my editor by the end of this month. Hopefully. As I said in my last post, we’re hosting our nephew’s wedding rehearsal dinner here at the farm on September 29, and we’re smack dab in the middle of prep — landscaping, painting, cleaning and more cleaning. Last week, our contractor finished the driveway, walkway to the front door, and parking areas. They also put in planting beds in front of the house. We’re in central NC, and while it doesn’t look like Irma is going to trouble us, we thought we’d wait a little longer before doing the landscape planting.

For those of you in Irma’s path, please stay safe and take care of yourselves and your loved ones!!

The book is shaping up well, and I think you’ll really enjoy it. There will be an audio version (from Audible), but they have to have the final manuscript before they can start production. After they get the manuscript, it takes about three months for the final audiobook to be available. When I have a release date, I’ll let you know.

Speaking of which, the audiobook for The Ghoul Vendetta will be available on September 19!

Now on to upcoming books. . .After I finish The Myth Manifestation, I’m going to re-read the entire Raine Benares series in preparation for a new Raine book from her POV. And this time, Mychael will be with her on the cover. : ) After that, I’ll either do another SPI Files or finally write the first book in a new paranormal thriller series that’s been percolating in my head for the past two years. And after that, I’ll be writing a book set in Raine’s world from Phaelan’s POV. Yes, your favorite pirate gets his own adventure. And oh boy, have I found the perfect model for Captain Phaelan Benares.

And speaking of the Raine Benares series, those of you who are reading both series will have noticed that characters from the Raine series are turning up in The SPI Files. That takes another big step forward with The Myth Manifestation. I’m not going to give anything away, but you’re gonna love it! And for those of you who haven’t read the Raine Benares books, don’t let the covers fool you. They have the same tone and humor as The SPI Files. Try ’em, I think you’ll like ’em. ; )

As soon as I have a release date for The Myth Manifestation, I’ll post it on my blog, and my social media accounts, and send out a newsletter.

I’ll get back to work. Take care & stay safe!

Lisa

Yay! I love both series. I wonder what kind of trouble Raine and Mac could get into if they ever met. I would love to meet some of Mac’s family. Grandma Frazier sounds like hoot.
