Those of you who have been following me for a while know that I’m a HUGE fan of Felicia Day and The Guild. If you haven’t seen/laughed over/bought the first three seasons of this incredible web series, do so now. It is so worth it.
Felicia called me recently to ask if she could use Bewitched & Betrayed in The Guild’s NEW music video — “Game On!” which just came out today! Their first monster hit music video (“Do You Wanna Date My Avatar”) came out last year, instantly went viral and was soon the toast of the web, and the #1 bestselling mp3 on Amazon. The followup for this year is a take on a Bollywood musical extravaganza that even includes a completely real-looking faux elephant with a guy inside, and Jeff Lewis (Vork) as an 8-armed god singing in Hindi. It’s hysterical, and the costumes . . . gorgeous!!
The first scene of the video has Sandeep Parikh (Zaboo) trying to talk Codex (Felicia Day) back into gaming. They’re sitting on her bed, he’s on his laptop, she’s reading Bewitched & Betrayed. (huge grin)
Felicia’s a big fan of my books. And she is so generous, gracious, and such an utter sweetheart to include my book in what will be yet another mega-hit video for The Guild!

I do have one question: are you sure it was a live elephant? It looked like a prop to me. But what do I know; you have the pipeline to Felicia, not me.
That phone call sounds like it was an amazingly cool experience. I can just envision that phone call. “Hmm. You want my book to be a cameo in a widely-watched internet video? Ya know, I’m going to have to think about that one for a few days…”
Felicia sent me a direct tweet first to ask if she could call me to talk about the video. Yep, I’ll admit it — I had myself a little fangirl squee moment. And it was great to finally get to actually talk to her. Such a sweetie.
Robert, LOL. I THINK I read somewhere yesterday that it was a live elephant — I saw it move its ear. If it was an actual elephant, it was a very calm and sedate one. ; )

A blog of Felicia’s got me to read Magic Lost, Trouble Found, and now I’ve read 3 of the 4 in the series, anxiously awaiting a chance to read Bewitched and Betrayed. I’m now a fan, and I noticed the book in the video right away, and I was so excited, I had to rewind to hear what Zaboo was saying, lol. Love your books! In love with both Mychael and Tam (though maybe Tam a bit more, lol), and feel like Piaras is a little brother.
Felicia Day is the reason I picked up Magic Lost, Trouble Found! I’ve been a fan of hers for a long time and one of the places I follow her is on goodreads. We don’t have a 100% similar taste in books but I definitely clicked with your books. Awesome that your book is in The Guild’s new music video!
